Performing Arts for Fitness (PAWF) will be organizing its 4th fitness festival on November 24, 2 p.m. at NEZCC ground.

This was announced by PAWF members during a press conference Wednesday, at hope cafe, Dimapur.

Highlighting about the event PAWF CEO Talitemjen and MD Tainla Temjen stated that the event will be organized in collaboration with the Light House Church.

The purpose of the event is to create an awareness of healthy lifestyle, to understand fitness, to facilitate and to educate that fitness is way of life, said Talitemjen. Tainla Temjen said that Nagaland has, despite being the land of warriors, fallen to the trap of the modern ‘couch potato lifestyle’ and that fitness or being healthy had taken a seat back thereby allowing diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, cancers, gallstones, osteoarthritis, breathing problem, asthma, kidney failure, mental disorder and even fatal heart diseases and strokes to destroy lives. And therefore keeping that in mind PAWF Nagaland was formed in the year 2015 and started a movement called fitter Nagaland, she added.

PAWF have so far hosted three fitness awareness programmes in Dimapur and Mokokchung. The event will also provide platform for local artistes to perform while stalls for local entrepreneurs will be set up. Four schools will also be partaking in the event.

Light House Church pastor Meren informed that the event pledge to donate half of the revenue generated from pass sales proceed to “Go Movement” initiated by Sinai Ministry, a movement to fulfil the 10,000 missionaries promise made by the people while the other half would go to hosting of the event.

The members also informed that passes will be made available at the gate while the event is open to all age groups. PAWF members stated that they were expecting a better turn out than previous years.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
