Phek Basa Youth Organisation (PBYO) celebrated its golden jubilee at Phek Basa village under the theme “Youth empowerment” on Wednesday.

A release from PBYO stated that Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA, graced the occasion as the special guest. In his address, Nienu stated that jubilee was a divine time to introspect the past and reconcile with friends, families, neighbours and even with enemies.

“What is the use of all this jubilee if your attitude and behaviour remains the same?”, Azo questioned. MLA also said that one has to first undergo realization, then regret for all the wrong doings then repent and seek forgiveness from God. Through this, he viewed that transformation and reformation in every human being would take place.

Azo stated that presently the world was filled with momentary and worldly possessions and atmosphere wherein one has to wisely choose what was best for the self. He further challenged the gathering to change from within in order to make this world a better place to live in. “Let us celebrate jubilee in its true spirits and senses,” he reminded the gathering.

Also stating that the past was a mixture of good and bad, the MLA said the good deeds should be remembered and cherished “but nevertheless the bitter past should not be recollected in order not to destroy a perfect future ahead.”

Earlier, act of blessings was pronounced by Phek Basa Baptist Church senior pastor Zhievesa Nienu. Greetings was shared by Phek Basa Village Council chairman Razouhu Kezo, while welcome address was delivered by PBYO president Thenusa Venuh.
