Meeting to take up Central BJP rider against any change in PDA ministry

After BJP high command finally gave the nod for the proposed all-party and opposition-less Nagaland United Government (NUG), the ruling PDA (NDPP, BJP, Independents) and the NPF are to hold a joint meeting soon, to chalk out the way forward.
It was learnt that one of the main agenda that will dominate the joint meeting is about the rider placed by the Central BJP high command, that the present make up and composition of the Rio-led ministry should not be disturbed.
Sources said the BJP rider would practically bar the entry of NPF leaders into the cabinet.
As reported earlier in this newspaper, the NDPP held its meeting Wednesday at chief minister Neiphiu Rio’s Sovima residence after the BJP’s nod for the NUG.
It was learnt that chief minister Neiphiu Rio enlightened all those who attended, about what transpired during his meetings with union home minster Amit Shah and BJP national president J.P. Nadda in Delhi.
Those who attended the emergency meeting on Wednesday included Rio, senior legislators and functionaries. Sources said the meeting also discussed about holding a joint sitting with BJP and NPF for better coordination among all parties during the process of formation of the all-party government.
Meanwhile, state BJP leaders told this Correspondent, that the party will stand with the decision of the BJP central leadership that the status- quo of the present ministry should be maintained.
BJP sources said even if the proposed NUG was to be formalised, it should not affect the composition of the present ministry. This particular rider is believed to be a clear signal that none from the NPF should be included in the ministry.
It may be recalled the NPF president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu had disclosed that he had advised his party legislature not to seek or expect any post under the all-party government.
