Peren students tour to Assam and Shillong

Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a National Integration Tour to Guwahati and Shillong from August 6 to 10 for 17 students and two teachers of Jalukie and neighbouring areas of Peren district 

A press release from Assam Rifles said that during the course of the tour, students got the opportunity to meet and interact with the Governor of Meghalaya, Ganga Prasad. The Governor took keen interest in interacting with the students and motivated them to pursue a positive career perspective. 

The students also interacted with Lt. Gen. Sukhdeep Sangwan, Director General Assam Rifles. 

The itinerary included visits to various institutes and sites of cultural and historical importance.

During the flagging-in ceremony organised at Battalion Headquarter on August 11, commandant Jalukie Battalion encouraged the students to utilize the experience gained during the visit and imbibe in themselves the positive values of people from different states of India.
