Perform duties sincerely and efficiently: Zhaleo

Advisor of Excise, Sericulture and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio on Tuesday reminded the field personnel and ministerial staff to perform their official duties sincerely and efficiency as it will be the yardstick for all future evaluations related to transfer and postings. 

He said this at the programme organised by department of Excise and Sericulture to honour him at the directorate conference hall chaired by Orenpomo Kikon, secretary Excise & Sericulture.

A press release from commissioner of Excise, Dimapur, Tarep Imchen stated that, Zhaleo outlined the importance of procedures in government administration and functions. 

He also expressed the need to make the NLTP Act more stringent than its present status as it came into fruition due to the public opinion and pressure and that the Government was bound to take a decision based on the will of the people. 

To strengthen the department, Zhaleo stressed the importance of modernisation and expansion of offices in the newly established districts of Peren, Kiphire and Longleng. 

He also highlighted the importance of changing the nomenclature of the Excise department to that of Excise and Narcotics in line with the Rules of Business Executive.  

Commissioner of Excise, Tarep Imchen in his speech described the advisor as a seasoned bureaucrat with whom he had the opportunity to be associated for a number of years and hoped that his tenure would be productive and prosperous. 

President of NSEFSA, T Arilong Longkumer, apprised the advisor of the various issues and needs pertaining to the department. S. Chanlei Angh, deputy commissioner of Excise delivered the vote of thanks. 

The advisor also visited the Excise Residential Complex-cum-Training Centre at Lengrijan, Dimapur and took stock of the progress of the newly constructed training facility.
