Perhaps it’s God’s will

We say there is much evil, much suffering in this world. God knows particularly in our Nagaland. In such a scenario, many question- where is the loving God in all this. Why doesn’t he interfere? To make things right. But, then I think the fault doesn’t lie in our stars, nor, with God. The fault my dear, think lies with us. How so?  Let me elaborate. What we pray for, what we wish for we get. We think we are praying for peace, Amity, brothethood etc. Indeed, perhaps that is what we do on a conscious level. However, perhaps subconsciously or rather unconsciously we pray for suffering. You may perhaps say that I am mad! How can anyone pray for suffering! It is true. Indeed, no sane person will pray for suffering. However, my theory is this- we have become so inured to suffering that peace and happiness have become alien to us. Perhaps, we are no longer willing to venture into alien territory. Horrible, though it is; our present territory is safe- for we know the ins and outs- perhaps, therefore, it is time to again ask the Lord- teach us to pray. The solution is very simple. On a conscious level first of all we should pray for courage to enter new territory. We should slowly but surely envision new vistas. For, the continuous laceration has to end. The bruising has to stop.

Healing has to start. I am just a philosopher who muses and writes. All I can do is suggest. The powers that be; be they at the societal level, secular or the ecclesiastical should take the initiative. Let new prayers be made. Most importantly let us pray- God help us; to help ourselves! Amen.
