Petrol and diesel prices were cut across the metros by oil marketing companies on Saturday. While petrol prices went down 22-24 paise, diesel prices went down 25-27 paise across major Indian cities. After Friday’s price revision, petrol in New Delhi was retailing at Rs 70.72 per litre while diesel was priced at Rs 64.65 per litre.

In Dimapur, petrol on Saturday was retailing at Rs 68.70 compared to Rs.68.91 on Friday. Diesel, on the other hand, was selling at Rs 62.42 per litre as against Rs 62.66 yesterday.

In the state capital, petrol was retailing at Rs 69.42 per litre on Saturday compared to Rs 69.61 on Friday. Diesel was retailing at Rs 62.98 on Saturday as against Rs 63.27 on Friday.

Domestic petrol and diesel prices have been on a downward movement since May 29 and the trend continued on Saturday as well.

State-run oil marketing companies review fuel prices on a daily basis, and any revisions are implemented at the fuel stations with effect from 6 am.

The domestic fuel prices are determined broadly by the global crude oil and rupee-dollar forex rates.
