Petrol price cut, diesel stable

After remaining static for four consecutive days, the price of petrol was cut for the first time in a month by 5-8 paise, but diesel rates were unchanged for the eighth consecutive day across the country on Friday. In New Delhi, petrol prices fell to Rs 74.86 per litre as against Rs 74.91 per litre on Thursday while diesel was retailing at Rs.65.78 per litre. In Dimapur, following today’s cut, petrol was retailing at Rs.72.78 per litre while a litre of diesel continued to be sold at Rs.63.65. In the state capital Kohima, a litre of petrol and diesel stood at Rs. 73.58 and Rs. 64.28 respectively.
