After a hiatus of one day, state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) increased petrol price on Thursday by 9-10 paise per litre across four metros while diesel prices were left untouched.

According to IOCL website, price of petrol in Delhi was raised to Rs.81.83 from Rs.81.73 per litre.

After today’s rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur rose to Rs. 87.13 per litre while in the state capital Kohima price of petrol stood at Rs. 88.03. Petrol prices have now risen in 10 of the last 12 days. OMCs review the rates of petrol and diesel on a daily basis and any changes are implemented at fuel stations with effect from 6 am.

Currently, fuel prices vary in different parts of the country due to factors such as price of crude oil, foreign exchange rate and local taxes.
