 The Phek district girls music band competition with the theme “Your Voice, Your Strength” as part of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign kicked started at Pfutsero (Pfutsero sub division) on July 14 at Government Higher Secondary School Pfutsero.

ADC  Pfutsero, Zeneikhonuo Vimero highlighted the objectives of the competition and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao which was a national campaign. Vimero mentioned that girl’s health, nutrition and sanitation were the core focus area of the campaign. She called upon all the members to protect and promote girl child.  

Mahila Shakti Kendra Phek coordinator elaborated on the objectives of the campaign and thanked ADC Pfutsero and team for coming up with well organised programme. Altogether, 10 all girls band representing eight schools and colleges participated in the event.  Vechikhoyi Lohe, principal GHSS Pfutsero proposed vote of thanks.

DK entertainment led by Senti Longchar, renowned musician Lichen Kitchu and Narola Jati also entertained the audience with special appearances and were also judges of the event along with John Pfokrelo.

The girls band from Nazareth School bagged the first position while TMTHSS and Baptist School Kohima stood first and second runners up respectively. The winners and participants were awarded with cash prize.

Meanwhile, the next leg of the event for Chizami sub division will take place on July 15 at Chizami, Chozuba sub division on July 20 at Chozuba, Phek Sadar at Phek on July 24 and Meluri sub division on July 27 at Meluri village. 

The grand finale has been scheduled for August 3 at Phek town. Event is organised by district administration Phek in collaboration with district level centre for women, Mahila Shakti Kendra Phek under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme.
