The Phek District Planning & Development board (DPDB) meeting was held on August 24 at its conference hall.

A DIPR report stated that the legislators from Phek district also attended the meeting and urged members to be at their stations and also abide by the rule of law, which, they said, was a must for the people in particular and the district in general.

The landslides that hit many places this year was brought up at the meeting and the concerned departments were requested to help out, especially with vehicular movement. Members were exhorted to remain corruption free and they were told that good teachers needed to be awarded so that they would be even more dedicated in their profession. “They spoke on the importance of road and power which is the life line of the people” the DIPR report stated.

The house agreed to construct a resting shed at Avakhung and decided to recommend this proposal for approval.

The meeting also recommended a security fencing and a toilet for GHSS, Meluri; establishment of a college at Chozuba town and weekly helicopter service from Dimapur to Meluri. The house also approved LADP for the 2018- 19 schemes. Art & Culture and Youth Resource & Sports, Phek presented a report of its activities.
