Phek Government College holds freshers’ day

Phek Government College (PGC) held its 36th Freshers’ Day on July 27.

A press release from the college said that welcoming the freshers, Dr. Vizovol Mekro, principal PGC, exhorted the freshers to make use of the services of the experienced faculty and also to give their best to bring laurels to the college.

Guest speaker, Avelu Ruho, ADC, Phek shared her experiences as a student and how she ended up a civil administrator despite her dream to become a lecturer.

She encouraged the students to seek jobs beyond the government sector and to respect and find dignity in every profession no matter how reputed or menial. Urging the students to constantly strive for excellence she also reminded them that everyone cannot be number one.

Later in the day, Tshekhrowe-u Thopi and Dzuve Chizo were crowned Miss Fresher Queen and Mr Fresher King. Avinika was judged the best Ramp Walk female and Nulato Hoshi the best male Ramp Walk. Miss and Mr Perfect Title were given to Tsüsülü Chiero and Keyirangong Sephe respectively.
