Drawing the attention of the state government, the Phenshunyu Lowjvu Union (PLU) Tseminyu subdivision under Kohima district has reported that NZU Bridge connecting Rumisinyu village under Tseminyu sub-division has been washed away on July 30, 2018. In a press release, PLU president, Sinhilo Thong stated that the bridge was constructed in 2012 with the contribution of three village councils under the initiatives of PLU. It stated that the bridge serves as the only lifeline of the Phenshunyu Lowjvu people. PLU also said that landslide had damaged roads in six locations causing immense hardship to the villagers. Further, the union said large number of terrace fields have been affected by the landslide. PLU has therefore appealed to the state government to take stock of the situation and extend help in every possible way.
