Poshan Maah rally flagged off in various districts

Poshan Maah rally was flagged off at Wokha, Zunheboto, Dimapur Kuda village, Nuiland, Medziphema, Tseminu, Kiphire and Dimapur on September 7. According to DIPR report, the whole of September 2019 will be dedicated to promotion of nutrition and health considering the importance of nutrition and health for growth and development of the children. The activities will be carried out in convergence with departments like Social Welfare, Medical, School Education and other line departments under the supervision of the district administration.

 Wokha: SDO (C) Wokha, Chonpenthung Ezung flagged off the rally at DC’s office Wokha.
Sr. supervisor, CDPO Office Wokha, Erenbeni Kikon administered the Poshan pledge before flagging off the rally. Anganwadi, Asha workers, Adolescent Girls Club and teachers were all present during the flagging off ceremony. Supplementary nutrition food was also distributed during the ceremony. CDPO, Wokha Myanlumo also urged all concerned involved to give their best effort for the success of the campaign.
Zunheboto: In Zunheboto, the rally was held with with DC & chairman DCAPC Poshan Abhyian Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo as the special guest. DC flagged off the rally at GHSS Zunheboto.  Keynote address and Poshan pledge was said by DWO Zunheboto, Atula Kikon. Short speech on nutrition by medical department. Special song by Anganwadi children and vote of thanks was proposed by CDPO Akuluto, DzuziingulieTerhuja.
Kuda village: Block level Poshan rally was conducted at Kuda village Dimapur organised by the department of Social Welfare Dimapur, in which Anganwadi workers and helpers took part in the rally.
Niuland town: CDPO, Niuland organised a Poshan rally as part of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month) to sensitive the public on the importance of nutrition at Niuland town. SDO (C) Niuland, Wacy Kent flagged off the rally after administering the Poshan pledge. On the occasion, Anganwadi children also participated in the rally.
Medziphema: Poshan rally was held at Medziphema town organised by Block Convergence Plan for Committee (BCPC) led by EAC Medziphema, Sentilong Ozukum and CDPO Tsungrosongla. During the Poshan rally, Anganwadi workers, Self Help Groups, NGOs and students carrying placards and banner with slogan “Right Nutrition” participated in the rally. Poshan pledge was read out led by EAC Medziphema, Sentilong Ozukum.
Tseminyu: SDO (civil) flagged off the Poshan rally at the premises of ADC office, Tseminyu, organized by Tseminyu ICDS project, held as part of Poshan Maah programme.
Obed Magh, senior supervisor, Tseminyu ICDS administered the Poshan pledge prior to the rally.
Kiphire: Poshan MAAH rally was launched in Sitimi town by Swasth Bharat Prerak (SBP), Itulungbe Ndang, with department of ICDS, district administration, faith leaders, community people and various community leaders initiating for nutritional awareness to eradicate malnutrition free India by 2022. 
A press release from SBP, Itulungbe Ndang, stated that SBP made community aware on 1000 days life cycle approach of nutrition, diarrheal control and management, anaemia control and prevention, wash and optimum nutrition. CDPO, Sitimi, M Yangsemong, highlighted importance of nutrition for growth and development of mother and child. Poshan Maah rally pledge was read out by EAC (NCS), Sitimi, Nchumthung Ezung.  
CAP Dimapur: Meanwhile, district Convergence Action Plan (CAP) committee for Poshan Abhiyan held a meeting at DCs office chamber, Dimapur on September 6, to chalk out the detail action plan for Poshan MAAH for the month of September 2019.
According to DIPR report, members discussed and resolved to conduct the Poshan seminar at Social Welfare office Diphupar A, Dimapur on September 12 for which DPO, Social Welfare, Hutoi Sema will take charge of the necessary arrangements. School based activities like essay writing/quiz competition /painting on nutritional issues to be conducted as part of the Poshan Maah on September 12 at GHSS, Dimapur where DEO shall take charge of the activities. 
The house also discussed to held cycle/bike rally on hygiene and nutrition on  September 21 and entrusted CDPO (urban) to make all necessary arrangements.
A local food show was decided to be held on September 25 at Supermarket where the opportunity will be given SHGs and further entrusted NRLM officials to make the necessary arrangements. DPRO Dimapur was entrusted to do all the media related activities throughout the month long programme.
