Poshan Maah sensitisation programmes conducted

ICDS Chare block in continuation of Poshan Maah activities, conducted panchayat meeting-cum-sensitisation camps from at Trongar, Chungliyimti and Chare town from September 18 to 20. 

A press release from ICDS Chare block stated that, panchayat meetings were conducted with the participation of village council members, GBs, church leaders, anganwadi workers, helpers and ASHAs from 4 villages at Trongar village on September 18, 3 villages in Chungliyimti village on September 19 and 4 villages at Chare town on September 20.
Speaking at the panchayat meetings with the participants, Nockpai Konyak, EAC, Chare threw light on the action plan to be implemented in the block and said that the coordination between various departments would be ensured to make Poshan Maah a success. Stressing the importance of the village councils, GBs and churches, Konyak added that these mediums would come in handy in carrying forward the mission in every household of Chare block.
Moa Longkumer, CDPO, Chare ICDS block sensitized the participants on how individual families can easily access government services to supplement nutrition for their children and pregnant/lactating mothers and the aims and objectives, targeted beneficiaries, and convergence action plans of Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan and Rashtriya Poshan Maah.
Around 90 village council members, GBs and church leaders participated in the panchayat meeting-cum-sensitisation camps at the three venues.
On September 19, ICDS Chare block in convergence with primary health centre, Chare conducted an anaemia screening camp for adolescent girls at PHC Chare. Around 120 girls underwent the screening test at the camp.
Kezo town: Rashtriya Poshan Rally was flagged off by Krocho Kiso VCC of Kezo town on September 21. Theyiehunuo Poshan block assistant led the community in saying Poshan pledge. 
A press release by Reyivolu sr. supervisor, Kohima Tribal ICDS project stated that, the rally commenced at TCP gate to the village community hall, Kezo town. 
Programme was led by Keneilhoupfenuo supervisor, invocation prayer by Kwezole AWW, overview of Poshan Abhiyaan, the target groups and the objectives of Poshan was shared by Reyivolu sr. supervisor. 
ANM of Kezo Town sub-health centre spoke on importance of timely immunisation in children and Women’s health. Words of gratitude were spoken by Mr. Kevineizo, Supervisor. 
ICDS Wokha: Department of social welfare ICDS, project Wokha observed Rashtriya Poshan month on September 21 at Orchid Colony Wokha. A press release from ICDS project Wokha, supervisor Nchumthung Odyuo stated that, programme was organised by ICDS project Wokha under Social Welfare department along with the ministry convergence departments, including PHED, School Education and Urban Development Agency. The topic on “water sanitation and hygiene (WASH)”, was deliberated by Bito T Jimo, SDO PHED Wokha, while “menstrual hygiene for girls”, was address by Erenbeni Kikon sr. Supervisors. Short speeches were also presented departments of School Education and DUDA. Welcome address was delivered by, Nchumthung Odyuo supervisors ICDS project Wokha. Programme was attended by the angawadi workers and helpers, adolescent girls and beneficiaries’ children. Sanitary napkins and nutritional supplementary foods were also distributed to the participants by the Social Welfare department.
GHSS Chozuba: GHSS Chozuba organised Poshan Abhiyan in the school auditorium hall on September 21. Speaker Dr. Kotso Kapfo, MO CHC Chozuba stressed on the topic nutritional values, girl’s adolescence menstrual cycle, hand wash and balanced diet. Angelo Pfithu, programme officer NSS GHSS Chozbua unit delivered on the key note address. The meeting was attended by Vekhoto Tetseo, CDPO Chozuba, T. Odyuo SDEO Choz, and Dr. Kapfo. Doctor and team conducted blood test, HB test and hand wash. The programme was chaired by Mhasisanuo, PGT English, short prayer by Augustine, PGT Comp and Sc and closing prayer by Diebule, vocational teacher.
CDPO Kohima: Awareness camp for adolescent girls was organized by child development project office (CDPO) Kohima (urban) held at panchayat hall Naga Bazaar Kohima on September 20. GNM PHC (U) Ketouvinuo Sachü spoke in the programme on nutritional needs, mental health and abstinence. Students between the age group 11-14 years, panchayat board members, AWW, AAWH attended the programme. The programme was chaired by Lhingkhokim Metha, invocation prayer by Aliale AWW, keynote of Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan and vote of thanks was delivered by sr. supervisor Alice Yepthomi.
