Concerned over the deadly coronavirus threat, Eastern Nagaland College Students Union’ (ENCSU) urged the state government and university authority to postpone the university exam in state or arrange suitable date at the earliest if postponement was not possible.

In a press release, ENCSU vice president Serichum Sangtam and general secretary Wangnei C Jessuhu expressed “deep concern over the University Examination Date for the Students to appear without any regular classes in semester system.”

ENSU said that top most priority for the students was to study and should have to complete the university syllabus. However, it said that in semester system, it was “very difficult to complete the syllabus for this few months.” ENSU also stated that for students of Wangkhao College, Mon, their classes began only a few days back after the appointment of contractual lecturers.

ENCSU said it was worried about students appearing the final degree exam without attending proper classes.

ENCSU has, therefore, appealed to the state government and the responsible authority to innerve and address the matter immediately.
