Phom peoples’ council (PPC) has submitted a letter to the deputy commissioner & chairman District Task Force on COVID-19, Longleng addressed to the chief minister of Nagaland requesting for “allotment of TruNat testing machine for Longleng district on priority”.

According to DIPR report, the letter signed by vice president and general secretary of PPC, H. Tenchem Phom and P. Changlong Phom said that as per the latest SOP issued by government June 1, asymptomatic returnees (excluding returnees from Chennai) are to be sent to their respective districts after screening in Dimapur without being tested.

In this, PCC asserted that since the district does not have any facility for testing, the apprehension and fear of people was increasing and that it was not only inconvenient to send samples to Kohima but time consuming as it takes a number of days for the result to be out.
