President, Gov others extend Easter greetings

President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, has extended his greetings and best wishes to all the citizens, especially to members of the Christian community in India and abroad. In his message, Kovind said Easter is celebrated across the world to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. “Christ symbolised the principles of humanism, love and truth. On this joyous occasion, let us commit ourselves to these values and to building a happy and fraternal nation,” President said.

Governor: Nagaland Governor, P.B. Acharya also extended Easter greetings to the people of Nagaland and called upon the people of the state to remember the true meaning of Easter and the sacrifice that has been made out of love. In his Easter message, the Governor said “The significance of Christ’s resurrection is that truth triumphs over evil and love is always stronger than hatred.” Encouraging all to work for peace, harmony and brotherhood, Acharya expressed hope that the celebration of Easter would renew all with the assurance of hope, healing, salvation and everlasting joy. 

NDPP: Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has conveyed its best wishes and warm greetings to the people of Nagaland on the occasion of Easter.

NDPP through its media & communication committee stated that “the gift of the death and resurrection of Christ our Lord is the noblest gift of all because through His supreme sacrifice the sins of mankind have been taken away.” NDPP called upon all to celebrate Easter with peace, love and happiness. It prayed that the glory of God, the Son and the Holy Spirit bring all the people closer to each other as they strive to make the society a better place for themselves as well as for future generations to come.  “And as we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ our Lord Saviour, let us also thank and praise Him for sacrificing Himself on the Cross to enable us to live a new and blessed life,” the party stated.

NPCC: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has also extended Easter greetings and wished every citizen a very Happy Easter. 

In a message, NPCC president, K Therie, said there was nothing greater than the Resurrection, adding that Jesus died on the cross so “we have salvation and life even after death.”

NPCC president wished that every Christian brother and sister, as they go to the Easter Sunday service, repent if they think they were also responsible in one or the other way in driving society into a sinful society like Sodom and Gomnorah.
