Priest ordained to Salesians of Don Bosco

Deacon Phuvito Emmanuel was ordained priest for the congregation of Salesians of Don Bosco, Dimapur province at St. Francis of Assisi parish, Lazami on January 16, wherein Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima officiated the ceremony of ordination.

A press release from secretary to the Bishop of Kohima, Fr. Renthungo Victor stated that,  deacon Phuvito dressed in the traditional attire was led to the altar by Lazami catholic community as a sign of offering to God. He was accompanied by his parents, siblings and relatives. 
The prayer of blessing was given along by the parents, while Rev. Fr.  Solomon Kivishe, assistant priest St. John the Evangelist Church, Khonoma, anchored the ordination ceremony.  Rev. Fr.  Vinoto Justine OFM the parish priest St. Francis of Assisi Church Lazami, accorded the words of welcome.
Bishop in his homily, exhorted the candidate to be humble, building close intimacy with Jesus through the celebration of the Eucharist and prayer. Bishop also exhorted the new priests to stay in touch with the family and friends who can be source of strength in difficult moments of priestly ministry. Bishop urged the family members and the parish community to uphold deacon Emmanuel daily in their prayers. 
Congratulatory song was presented by Phikuto and co, folk song by St. Francis of Assisi Church Lazami. James Khakhu delivered the welcome speech and Rev. Fr. Jose Kuruvachira SDB, provincial Dimapur province expressed gratitude to the parents and those responsible for the success of the ordination. He appreciated Loe Kiyeho and Avuli Rose for raising their children in the Christian spirit. Puloto Achumi & Vivitoli Swu anchored the felicitation programme. 
Deacon Phuvito Emmanuel SDB was born on September 25, 1989 to Leo Kiyeho and Avuli Rose in Lazami village. He is the second son of the six children. Others present were priests, sisters, church leaders, CAN, NCWA, NCYM, parents and relatives, friends and well wishers. Over 45 priests concelebrated with the Bishop.
