Publication of integrated draft e-roll released

ADC and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa on Tuesday released the publication of Integrated Draft Electoral Roll at DC conference Hall, Kohima. 

Addressing AEROs and political party representative, the ERO appealed to the political parties to go through the draft roll and bring to the notice of BLOs and AEROs in the event of any bogus enrolment, person expired, shifted or illegally found enrolled.

Lithrongla said that claims and objections will be corrected during the period for filing claims and objections from September 11 to October 31.

Asserting that preparation was more important than polling day, Lithrongla urged the political parties to ensure that voters completing 18 years on January 1, 2019 get enrolled so that they can exercise their franchise in the coming election.

She also advocated on creating awareness to the residents and urged the electors to go to their respective polling stations during the two day special campaign on September 22 and October 31.

AEO, R. Toshimeren Aier appealed to the political parties to appoint their respective Booth Level Agents to assist the BLOs. He said creation of three polling stations have been approved, one each in Forest colony, P. Khel and Chedema taking a total of 226 polling stations in Kohima district.

It may be noted that Chief Electoral Officer, Abhijit Sinha in a release issued on September 10 said that after disposal of all the forms received, the final publication of the photo electoral rolls for the State will be done on January 10, 2019 and the final electoral rolls published will be used for conduct of elections till the next revision. The Integrated Draft Electoral Roll was handed over to the various political parties.

KIPHIRE: In Kiphire, DC and District Election Officer Kiphire, Mohammed Ali Shihab who chaired the meeting said that every person 18 years and above, who are yet to enrol must get themselves enrolled. 

Assistant Election Officer Kiphire, Olivi Thurr requested the representatives of political parties to complete the draft formalities as per the scheduled.

She said polling booths at Seyochung-Sitimi 59 Assembly Constituency has been from increased from 46 to 48 and Pungro-Kiphire 60 Assembly Constituency from 65 to 70. 

Political party representatives from BJP, NPF, NPP, NDPP and INC Kiphire attended the meeting and collected the draft publication.
