The Pfütseromi Union Kohima (PUK) has expressed shock and condemned the alleged “attempted murder” of Thejangulie Kapfo by one Ketsei u Belho, step father-in-law of Kapfo on August 12 at Lower Chandmari Colony, Kohima.

A press note issued by PUK president Wepretso Mero and general secretary Dr Dieku Ritse claimed that Ketsei u allegedly tried to kill Kapfo by stabbing him with a knife, and also smashed his back with a wooden plank.  Pfütseromi Union Kohima said that while the victim tried to escape, profusely bleeding, the accused threw a stone at him. The union said such act was “unbecoming” in Naga culture.  Pfütseromi Union Kohima therefore urged the concerned authority not to grant bail to the accused saying “he deserves to get a befitting punishment from the court of law.
