Pungro selected as model town

 Pungro town has been selected as model town for reduction of malaria 2019 by National Vector Borne Disease & Control Programme (NVBDCP) Kiphire under the department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland on June 8. 

The model town was launched EAC Pungro Wiridin at Pungro town, stated in a press release issued by Kiphire NHM district media officer, Atsali T. 

At the inaugural programme, the EAC said that government was trying every possible means to help people and also to eliminate malaria. He further urged upon the gathering to initiate and co-operate with the department in implementation of such programmes.

Key note address was given by district malaria officer (DMO) Dr. Chitale Hiese, wherein she delivered health talk on malaria and its immediate affects. 

During the launching programme, the committee adopted some following resolutions, namely to screen all fever cases for malaria; Early diagnosis & copulate treatment; Regular sanitation drives; Use of LLIM/mosquito nets and other protective measures and IEC & BCC activities in all the wards and churches.

The programme was chaired by Yimkiumong MI CHC Pungro, invocation by Shojiba member model town followed by mass social work in all the wards of Pungro town.
