Quake hits Mnp; 2 injured

An earthquake of moderate intensity measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale that hit Manipur on Thursday was felt in other parts of the region including Nagaland.

According to a PTI report, at least two persons were injured in Manipur after roof of a building collapsed at Wangkhei Andro bus parking area in Imphal East district due to the earthquake. The injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital, the report stated. 

The earthquake that occurred at 11.54 am struck at a depth of 40 km in Imphal district, said a report of the Meteorological Department. It stated that the epicentre of the quake was at latitude 24.9 degree North and longitude 94 degree East.
