Ranji Trophy gets underway

On the opening day of the Plate Group Ranji Trophy match between Nagaland and Meghalaya, which got underway at Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) Stadium at Sovia here on Monday, Meghalaya were 268 for 9 in 90 overs in 1st innings.

The 2019-20 edition of the Ranji Trophy began on Monday with 36 teams competing across the country in India’s premier first-class tournament. Earlier, Nagaland won the toss and elected to field.
Meghalaya’s Punit Bisht, Sanjay and Nongkhlaw scored 125 runs, 61 runs and 34 runs respectively. Nagaland’s Imliwati Lemtur took 7 wickets while Stuart Binny and Tahmeed took 1 wicket each. Match would resumes Tuesday at 8:45 am
The opening of the match was graced by DC Dimapur Anoop Khinchi. A delegation from Meghalaya Cricket Association led by its general secretary Gedieon K was also present along with the officials of Nagaland cricket association.
