RCN holds general assembly in Jalukie

Rongmei Council Nagaland (RCN) general assembly was held at St. Xavier College auditorium, Jalukie under the theme “remedial steps against confronting issue” on October 11. 

The event was graced by commissioner & secretary Vety & AH, Alan Gonmei as chief host and OSD NSDMA, Johnny Ruangmei as special guest.  

A press release from RCN general secretary, Kidongam Panmei stated that the chief host applauded the RCN for their noble job rendered for the enhancement of the community in holistic development amongst the Rongmei especially living in and around Nagaland. 

While special guest stressed on uplifting Rongmei economy. 

The first session of the assembly was chaired by Jangai Pamei, former president RCN and Namton Pamei, education and statistics secretary, Rongmei Council Peren (RCP) as sessional secretary. 

The assembly started with an invocation by Rev. Namrong Pamei, welcome speech by Ginbonlung Kamei, president RCP followed by presidential address from Chingkhiulung Gonmei, president RCN. 

The second session was chaired by K. Nicodim and Kanpatlung Pamei as chairman and sessional secretary respectively. 

Every unit presidents of RCN presented their reports and RCN audit report was given by Kidongam Panmei (auditor RCN). Special song was presented by Kathuang Pamei. 

RCN has also elected the new team for the tenure 2019-24 with Chingkhiulung Gonmei as president and Kidongam Panmei as general secretary along with four others. Rev. H.M. Gonmei, former executive secretary Rongmei Baptist Association Nagaland anointed the newly elected RCN officer bearers. 

The remaining vacant posts will be filled during the first RCN general executive meeting.
