Rebel nabbed with explosives in Mnp

An active cadre of rebel outfit PREPAK (Pro) was arrested with explosive materials by security forces in Manipur, an official source said on Tuesday.

Ingudam Ingocha alias Boribi (43) of Saijang village in Imphal East district was nabbed by a joint team of state police commandos and troops of 15 Assam Rifles on Monday, the source said.

A Chinese hand grenade, four detonators, two 9 volt batteries with connectors, three circuits, two PEK cakes weighing around 260gm each, 700gm of TNT (TriNitroToluene) explosive and a mobile handset were recovered from his possession. He was nabbed from his home where the combined team conducted a raid based on specific information.

The source alleged that Ingudam Ingocha alias Boribi joined PREPAK (Pro) in February 2020 and worked under the command of one Lalngamba of finance section of the outfit.  

The seized explosive materials were handed to him by his commander to plant on the road to target security forces during his visit to Moreh, a town at the Indo-Myanmar border in March this year.

The apprehended PREPAK (Pro) has been handed over to Yaingangpokpi police station , Imphal East along with the seized items, the police source added.
