Reconstitute Naga Hoho: TPO

Tenyimi People Organisation (TPO) has called upon all Naga tribe organisations to come together and re-constitute “a fully represented Naga Hoho” which would function and work for the interest of the Naga people. In a press note, TPO president Timikha Koza and general secretary Vipopal Kintso stated that at the presidential council meeting of TPO held on February 1, at Hotel Millennium Kohima, the constituents organisations agreed that they continued to honour and stand by the Yehzabo of Naga Hoho as adopted in March 1998 and revised in October 2013.

However, they said that at present the officials of Naga Hoho were not elected in tune with the Yehzabo, but in contradiction to the “very concept and principles of it.” Besides, they said it totally violated Article 16 of the Yehzabo which determined election of office bearers.

TPO said that it, therefore, “does not recognise the so-called official of Naga Hoho”.

On the Naga political issue, the meeting represented by all the ten constituent organisations of TPO along with the members of Board of Arbitrators (BoA) appealed to all responsible parties to be sincere and truthful so that mutual respect “rather than imposition” becomes the foundation of a political settlement that was inclusive and lasting.

Meanwhile, on the expiry of the present TPO tenure, the house decided to organise a general session at the earliest. In this regard, the House agreed on the proposal of the Poumai Hoho to host the said confluence.
