Refresher course training on revised ATMA guidelines

The State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organized a “Sensitization/Refreshers course on revised ATMA guidelines, 2018 Phase-II” three-day training program for ATMA functionaries at SAMETI, Medziphema from April 24 to 26. The training program was aimed at educating trainees on the revised support for state extension programs for extension reforms (ATMA) scheme, 2018 guidelines.

A press release from director SAMETI Medziphema stated that resource persons for the training program were AI of SNO cell, directorate of Agriculture, Alem Jamir, deputy project directors SAMETI, Tiajungla Longchar and Vikaho Chophi.

The training covered a number of different topics. 

A field trip to a poultry farm school under Medziphema block was undertaken where the trainees interacted with the farm school teacher, Anebou Kuotsu on operation and record maintenance of the farm school. 

Addressing the valedictory program, head assistant IETC Medziphema, Marcus Kasho urged the participants to understand that bettering farmers’ lots and educating them on new farming technologies was of the utmost importance. He encouraged the trainees to take advantage of available resources to strengthen skills and knowledge of farmers to make them progressive.

The valedictory function was chaired by DPD SAMETI, Vikaho Chophi. The training program concluded with distribution of certificates by Marcus Kasho to the participants. A vote of thanks was pronounced by DPD SAMETI, Sentinaro Longchar.
