Deputy commissioner & district election officer, Mokokchung, Rajesh Soundararajan organized a training-cum-rehearsal for counting supervisors, counting assistants and micro observers in connection with counting of votes for Lok Sabha Election 2019 and by-election to 26 Aonglenden A/C, at town hall, Mokokchung.

According to DIPR report, DC & DEO in his address said that counting of votes was one of the important stages of election process and urged everyone to ensure correct and proper counting. He asked all the officials to report on time (7 am) and said no movement would be allowed once the EVM starts arriving to the counting hall.

Kiphire: In Kiphire district, awareness on counting was held at deputy commissioner’s office conference hall on May 21.  

Deputy commissioner, Kiphire, M. Shayung Phom and additional deputy commissioner Reny Wilfred encouraged the counting officials to clear their doubts for smooth counting exercise. 

Meanwhile, according to DIPR, counting observer for the Lok Sabha election in Nagaland, Ritess Kumar Singh reached Kiphire district on May 20. 

On his arrival at Kiphire, Ritess had a review meeting with the district administration along with superintendent of Police Kiphire at DC’s office chamber. Ritess asked the district administration to be careful while handling the VVPATs during counting in order to avoid unnecessary errors. 

He also inspected the strong room and the place of counting at the DC office. Ritess was accompanied by DC Kiphire, M. Shayung Phom; ADC, Reny Wilfred IAS; SP Kiphire, Y.E Ngullie, IPS and other senior officers.
