Reka Mero defends KKTWA title; Neiche Tepfo secures U-16 title

Reka Mero (Lekromi village) defended his Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Wrestling Association (KKTWA) title for the third time defeating Wetilo in the finals of the 28th wrestling meet of KKTWA at Pfutsero Sports Complex under Phek district.

In the U-16 years category, Neiche Tepfo of Lewoza village took the title. There were a total of 8 teams with 56 participants including U-16.

Minister planning and coordination land revenue and parliamentary affairs, Neiba Kronu, who graced the occasion as chief guest, lauded Khezha-Kuzha for coming together as one to play in unity. Kronu said that many job avenues would be created in sports and many sports complexes were would be set up in days to come.

Joint director department of agriculture, Medovilie Ladu, who was the guest of honour, reminded that wrestling was a traditional game passed through from forefathers, adding it was about respect and discipline. Ladu also appealed to the state government to create job essence for the sportsperson at the state and national level.
