Reports of DPDB and SDPDB meetings

The Planning and Development Boards of various districts and subdivisions held their monthly meetings from August 16 to 18. Following are the DIPR report extracts of these meetings.

Kohima DPDB: The Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of August was held at DC’s Conference Hall on August 18. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of advisor of Youth Resources and Sports and chairman DPDB Kohima, Er. Zhale Neikha. MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro was also present in the meeting.

The chairman welcomed all the members and appreciated the good attendance. 

He expressed optimism that the next meeting would see good attendance as well.

Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman DPDB Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, chairing the meeting, reviewed the last meeting minutes and took up the day’s agendas.

On the recent unprecedented heavy rain, the DC said that houses and families in Kohima district had been badly affected and displaced. Moreover the lifeline road between Dimapur and Kohima has been cut off and a new landslide has occurred near the KMC dumping site. However, the DC appreciated the tireless efforts put in by the line departments for restoration works and encouraged them to continue their works. Informing the board that the Incident Response System (IRS) had been activated since August 1, the DC has requested all the DDMA members and line departments to be ready as and when required to execute their roles and responsibilities as per the IRS structure.

Tobu SDPDB: The Tobu SDPDB meeting was held at ADC conference Hall on August 16 under the chairmanship of SDPDB chairman & advisor DUDA, Bongkhao Konyak.

At the outset, the chairman called for constructive ideas for the welfare of the people of Tobu sub-division. The last meeting minutes was reviewed by ADC Tobu Zebethung Kithan. The board decided to remind to the concerned authority about the immediate posting of headmasters to Government High School Tobu and Bume, SDO Civil Muknyakshu, EAC Mopong, SCMO, and nurses to Tobu HQ. The board also deliberated on issues like shortage of water supply and construction of roads at various places. The chairman reminded the officers to regularly attend their posts.

Changtongya SDPDB: The Sub-Divisional Departmental Co-ordination Forum meeting, Changtongya sub-division was held on August 16 in the office chambers of SDO (Civil) Changtongya. The chairman, Moakumzuk Tzudir, SDO (C) Changtongya, welcomed all the members present and encouraged all the SDDCF members (Head of Officers) to perform their respective duty at their place of posting, to serve and also to cooperate with the public.

In view of reported case of total absence of officers/staff and “non-opening of Government Office” it was decided that random surprise checkings would be conducted.

The chairman also enquired about the damaged transformer, and the SDO (Power) assured the house that the matter would be looked into at the earliest.

Continual failure of mobile connectivity of service providers BSNL and Airtel was taken up and it was that the respective offices should be asked to improve services at the earliest.

The house also decided to organise the 3rd Inter Departmental Football Tournament in the month of October and selected the Organizing Committee members.
