With barely six days left for the 1st Phase of the Lok Sabha Elections to be held on April 11, hundreds of requisitioned vehicles, which include more than 500 government vehicles, were dispatched to Phek and Kiphire districts and Pughoboto sub-division from Kohima Local Ground on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Returning Officer (DC&ARO) Kohima, Anoop Khinchi has served show-cause notices on those whose government vehicles were requisitioned  but failed to report for duty.  According to the Lok Sabha General Elections transport cell, charges of these vehicles have been asked to write to the concerned authority on or before April 6 explaining why disciplinary action should not be initiated against them. The transport cell added that requisitioned vehicles assigned duties for Kohima district will be dispatched on April 8.

It may mentioned that the DC & ARO Kohima had directed all requisitioned vehicles, including government vehicles, to report to the concerned authority for election duty by April 3.
