DMC also directed all residents under its jurisdiction not to throw waste/garbage in the drains. Residents have been requested not to throw waste/garbage in drains, in view of the advisory issued by Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), with regard to weather forecast of heavy rainfall and strong winds, with possibility of flash floods as well as landslides from July 1 to July 12. Clogged drains being one of the main reason for water logging and flooding, colony authorities have been directed to ensure total prohibition of disposing garbage in the drainage within their respective colonies. For clean and healthy Dimapur, DMC urged for cooperation and civic responsibilities from the general public.
