Response to DDADU

By Nagaland Post | Publish Date: 9/11/2019 11:28:35 AM IST

With reference to your article published in Nagaland Post dated 23rd August 2019 I hereby clarify in regards to my RTI application replied by RTA and published in local dailies, and print media for the public concerned.

I have filed a couple of  RTI application regarding the Auto Rickshaw fare in Dimapur for  the RTA guidelines and Orders, but they have never ever complied with the Regional Transport Authority  and the drivers continuously practice daylight extortion to the commuters and my articles was published on 16th Feb 2015 under the head Suggestion For Streamlining Public Transport System. Again one of the concerned Senior citizen  Rikhyo Kikon Lotha’s article was published on 2nd November 2015 under  the head, “fitting electronic meter box” stating, that on 2nd Feb 2004 there was a meeting under the Chairmanship of H.Hetoi Chophi president DDADU for introducing electronic meter Boxes on all commercial taxi and auto rickshaw like other states across the country. “The D.C Dimapur said that the electronic meter box would be installed to all the taxis and auto rickshaw compulsorily. Those who do not comply by the standing orders would be penalised to the extent of cancellation of permit” But the order has not been complied till date even after lapses of 19 years. Again my articles were published on 24th January 2017 and 11th April 2017 on the headline “Grievances of Auto Rickshaw Passengers in Dimapur District”, in Nagaland post and Eastern Mirror respectively.
Due to weak administration regarding the Auto Rickshaw plying in Dimapur District, the Auto Union has taken advantages upon the commuters, even in ‘No Parking zone’ parked by Auto and violation of traffic rules, during traffic congestion, negligent driving, Exorbitant charges of passenger fare, overload passengers, Hired charge, Documents, uniform and prescribe rate, Night Passengers charges, concession for student on school uniform, handicapped and senior citizen, this issues were pick up in my articles in details published the aforementioned date.
I have never come across any response to clarify regarding the senior citizen Mr. Rikhyo Kikon Lotha article and my articles till today by the DDADU or RTA, once I have submitted my application addressed to former D.C. Kesonyu Yhome IAS through registered post to reply my articles but in vain. Why the competent authority lenient to the Auto Drivers and let the poor passengers suffered everday?
On 29th 30th and 31st of August 2017 published in Nagaland Post by RTA for revised fares of Auto Rickshaw plying in Dimapur District for strict compliance of the Orders to the commuters,
The DDADU has never ever compliance with the Orders but both the mental and physical harassment to poor passengers, and the passengers are losing lacs of rupees every day. They have playing games in win/lost to passengers and win in their own comfort zone, never ever do the job according to RTA rules and Orders as service to the public in letter and spirit.
We the passengers are co-operating with the RTA but the drivers failed to do so, but I am given the present situation on the street everyday faced by commuters in today’s market. You may not be the victims today but tomorrow you may be or your neighbours, relatives and friends in the hands of the Auto Rickshaw Drivers.
