Revision of photo electoral rolls

Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, has informed all voters that the Election Commission of India has ordered the conduct of an intensive Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls of with reference to January 1, 2019 as the qualifying date, with the following schedule for the State of Nagaland:

i) Publication of Integrated draft electoral roll – September 11; ii) Period for filing claims & objections –September 11 to October 31; iii) Special Campaign Dates – September 22 to October 13; iv) Disposal of claims & objections – By November 30; v) Updating database and printing of supplement – By January 5, 2019; and vi) Final publication of electoral roll – January 10, 2019.

All pre-revision activities such as training of officials, house to house field verification by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs), rationalization of polling stations and physical verification of PS buildings and update of the Control fables, integration and preparation of draft electoral rolls have been completed.

The draft photo electoral rolls will be published in all the 2227 polling stations by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers on September, 11. Claims and objections in Form 6, 6A, 7, 8 and 8A will be received by the concerned Booth Level Officer/Assistant Electoral Registration Officer/Electoral Registration Officer from September, 11 to October, 31. Relevant Forms may be obtained from the above electoral authorities or downloaded from www.eci.nic.in or www.ceo.nagaland.gov.in. Special campaign dates for receiving Forms will be on September, 22 and October, 13 at all the polling station locations across the State.

After disposal of all the Forms received, the final publication of the photo electoral rolls for the State will be done on January 10, 2019. The final electoral rolls so published will be used for conduct of elections till the next revision.

All political parties and citizens have been requested to take a pro-active role and extend all possible help to the entire election machinery of the State in preparation of an accurate and error-free electoral roll.
