Rio effects minor reshuffle

In a minor reshuffle after the PDA government was installed in March 2018, the governor of Nagaland, on the advice of the chief minister, has reallocated the portfolios and the business of the government among the ministers.

According to a notification, the State Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio would hold Finance, Personnel & Administrative Reforms and any other portfolio not allotted; Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton will hold Home and Road & Bridges; G Kaito Aye Agriculture and Cooperation; CM Chang Forest, Environment & Climate Change; Neiba Kronu Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs; S Pangnyu Phom Health & Family Welfare; P Paiwang Konyak Transport, Civil Aviation & Railways and Land Recourses; Jacob Zhimomi Public Health Engineering; Metsubo Jamir Rural Development; Tongpang Ozukum Housing and Mechanical; V Kashiho Sangtam Soil & Water Conservation and Geology & Mining and Temjen Imna Along Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs.

Meanwhile, the chief minister has reassigned the departments to the advisors to the CM with immediate effect: Noke Wangnao Social Welfare, Home Guards & Civil Defence; Pohwang Konyak Fire & Emergency Services, SIRD and Relief & Rehabilitation; Pukhayi Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection and Justice & Law; Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire Urban Development & Municipal Affairs; R Khing Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Women Resources Development; Mmhonlumo Kikon Information Technology  & Communication, Science & Technology and New & Renewable Energy; Tovihoto Ayemi Power; Dr.Longrineken Treasuries & Accounts and National Highways; Zhaleo Rio Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs; Namri Nchang Water Resources; L Khumo Fisheries; K Tokugha Sukhalu School Education; Toshi Wungtung Information & Public Relations, SCERT and Village Guards; Kazheto Kinimi CAWD and NSDMA; Mhathung Yanthan Horticulture and Border Affairs; Khehovi Yepthomi Tourism and Art & Culture; N Bongkhao Konyak DUDA, H Haiying Prisons and Printing & Stationery; Imnatiba Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Er.Zale Neikha Youth Resources & Sports.

The notification reiterated that the arrangement was to help utilize the vast and practical experience of the members of NLA for the benefit of the public at large.
