The 2016 batch of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (RMSATA) Longleng unit has demanded the district authority to immediately release the two months pending salary.

In a press release, NRMSATA (2016) Longleng unit convenor, Lenlong Phom and information & publicity secretary, Bakon Phom stated that they have been fighting the dreaded pandemic silently despite not being paid for seven months now. The unit pointed out that the salary was released in August by the directorate; however, it alleged that the district authority Longleng failed to release the same. It stated that the district authority had miserably failed on its part to deliver due to its incapability, negligence and lackadaisical attitude towards the teachers who have been sincerely serving without pay and termed it as “total discrimination” against the teachers. Therefore, the teachers have demanded the district authority to immediately release the pending salary without any delay. It further warned that failing to comply with the teachers’ demand, it shall be compelled to take its own course of action.
