RNPC elects team, issues notifications

The Rengma Naga Peoples’ Council (RNPC) held its annual general body meeting on August 22 in Dimapur. The new team will be headed by K Solomon H Rengma as president and Simon J Rengma as the general secretary, along with five other joint secretaries and two vice presidents.

A press release by RNPC president K Solomon H Rengma and Aga Rengma further stated that the general body also registered twenty SGBs and GBs to represent the various villages and areas of dominance over its members and requested the members to clear their membership fees for the tenure 2018-2019 through official channels at the earliest.  The release added that RNPC also lists the following organizations as its associated units and has requested them to consider proper official counselling and deliberations with the apex body on any sensitive political or social issues before going public: the associated units of RNPC are: Rengma Mothers’ Association, Karbi Anglong (RNMA);  Rengma Naga Youth Organisation, Karbi Anglong (RNYO); Western Rengma Students’ Union, Nagaland (WRSUN);  Rengma Naga Students’ Union, Karbi Anglong (RNSU); Rengma Naga Employees Association (RNEA); and Rengma Naga Cultural Society (RNCS).
