A team of Sumi Aphuyemi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SAKK) executive carried out its first phase-inspection of government schools and offices under Pughoboto area from August 6 to 9.

A press release from SAKK president, Qhetoshe Swu stated that, during the visit to government schools, the union observed that most of the schools were functioning without basic amenities. It lamented that the infrastructure of GHS Ighanumi and GHS Ghathashi were in deplorable condition which created inconvenience to the students as well as hamper regular classes.
While expressing concern over the shortage of teachers in government schools, the union pointed out that GMS Chishili and GMS Kichili were functioning without the subject teachers ever since its upgradation as a result of which the students have been victimised. Several schools such as GHS Lazami, GHS Ghathashi were functioning without maths teacher, GHS Ighanu without English teacher and GHS Pughoboto without administrative head for about a year.
The union urged the concern department to look into the shortages of subject teachers in the mentioned schools and has also taken serious note of the irregularity of the headmaster (GHS Ighanu) and several other teachers. The union warned the irregular teachers to perform their duties sincerely failing which stern action would be initiated against the errant teachers.
The SAKK team on their visit to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Pughoboto was shocked to find that only one doctor was on duty. Maintaining that by abstaining from their duty they were putting the precious lives of the public at risk, the union urged the senior medical officer and his team to attend to their duty sincerely and give proper services to the public.
SAKK further appealed the department concerned to look into the problems faced by the general public and arrange the needful to the institutions at the earliest.
