SAMETI organises training  for ATMA functionaries

State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a three-day “Sensitization/refreshers course on revised ATMA Guidelines, 2018 Phase-I” training program for ATMA functionaries at SAMETI, Medziphema from April 16 to 18. 

A press release from director SAMETI, Medziphema, stated that resource persons for the training were Dr. I. Amenla, director SAMETI & principal IETC; Alem Jamir, A.I. SNO cell, directorate of Agriculture; Tiajungla Longchar, and Vikaho Chophi deputy project directors, SAMETI.

A field trip to a pineapple farm school in Molvum village under Medziphema block was also organized where the team interacted with the farm school teacher, Veikhochong and discussed operation and record maintenance of the farm school. 

The valedictory function was chaired by Tiajungla Longchar, DPD SAMETI, while feedback on the training was given by Tokato Zhimomi, DPD Zunheboto, Kekosenuo Solo, BTM Kiphire and Dr. Bendangmenla Tzudir, AI, IETC. 

In her valedictory address, Dr. I. Amenla Jamir encouraged the participants to evolve with the changing agricultural scenario by updating themselves on the latest research and development taking place around the world. She also asked the trainees to work for the farming community passionately to bring about desirable changes in their socio-economic statuses. The training program concluded with distribution of certificates to the participants by Dr Alem Jamir. A vote of thanks was proposed by Vikaho Chophi, DPD SAMETI.
