SAP to facilitate farmers

Department of agriculture held its co-ordination team meeting for development of Nagaland State Agriculture Portal (SAP) under NeGPA at the directorate conference hall, Kohima on Tuesday. 

Additional Director of Agriculture-II S.Kivikhu Achumi addressing the meeting said department was committed to provide responsive and effective administration and platform for the welfare of the farmers and farming based community through the SAP.

He said the ultimate goal of SAP was to use information technology as a medium to provide effective interactive platform to the farmers so that exchange of information and access to Agriculture services was fast and easy, leading to a sustainable and progressive farming system for the farmers in the State.

Achumi also stated that State Agriculture Portal  will become an interface between the department and farmers and farmers based community and also to attract the buyers across the globe for business as this will provide common platform with a single click of a button. 

M/s Ramietech Solutions, Kohima, who was selected to work for operation and management (O& M) on SAP, presented the overview of the portal.

Ramietech representative while presenting the portal on System Requirement Specifications (SRC) said that the department was in need of a robust IT application to enhance its operations and provide value –added services to various stakeholders including farmers. 

The representative said the state agri portal will cater to the needs of various stakeholders including farmers, students government and other stakeholders. 

The System Requirement Specifications  portal has been approved by the department coordination team.
