SASRD conducts Outdoor Games C’ship

School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD), Medziphema campus conducted its 7th Inter-Class Outdoor Games Championship from March 11 to 14. The inaugural programme was graced by Tokai V. Sumi, SDO (Civil) Medziphema. The special guest in his speech highlighted the importance of hard work, dignity of labour and sincerity in achieving success in life. He also urged the students to sincerely focus on their goals and ambitions until they achieve it.

During the programme, reigning Miss Kohima, Khrienuo Liezietsu (B.Sc 4th year) was felicitated for bringing laurels to the college by participating in various beauty pageants and winning the titles of Miss Ekarikthin,2019 ( Annual Techno- Cultural fest of NIT, Nagaland ), second runners up of Face of Nagaland (FON), 2019, Miss Kohima 2019 and top finalist of FBB Campus Princess 2019.  
The programme was chaired by Kati S. Zhimomi, executive member, SU:SASRD and invocation was offered by Dr. Razouneinuo Zuyie, advisor SU:SASRD. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Akali Sema, Dean, NU: SASRD, a special song was presented by Avikhurhe Ngouri and vote of thanks was proposed by Takhe Lampong, assistant sports secretary, SU:SASRD.
Altogether, 8 teams, namely; the Ethereals (B.Sc 1st), Enigma (B.Sc 2nd), Zenith (B.Sc 3rd), Phoenix (B.Sc 4th), Infinitos (M.Sc 1st), Argonauts (M.Sc 2nd), Striders (B.Voc) and the PhD Tigers competed during the championship. Team Argonauts emerged as the overall champions, followed by Zenith and Phoenix in the first and second runners-up respectively. 
The best sportsman and sportswomen of the tournament were bagged by Vikethozo Kulnu of Phoenix and Tana Yagum from Argaunauts respectively.
