Southern Angami VDB Union (SAVDBU) expressed its resentment over non payment of DRDA staff salaries for more than 11 months and appealed government of Nagaland to do justice to the employees who were sincerely working for down trodden poor villagers.

A press release from SAVDBU information and publicity secretary, Kethozelhou Ngulie, stated that the union also raised concern over problems faced by the staff such as increasing workload, in spite poor network and poor banking facilities across the state.

SAVDB asserted that non-payment of salary and insensitive attitude towards the staffs’ demand will have ultimate effect on village economy and development at large.

It further stated that economy will be largely affected if MGREGA funds are derailed by non payments to DRDA staff.

Union further appealed the concerned authority to be more sensitive towards its own poor people and that the first phase of agitation of staff have already impacted the system for flow of fund to the state. The union also expressed its support to DRDA staff of its rightful deserving demand for salary.
