SBAK-Aizuto women conference underway

Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK) Aizuto 6th triennial women conference got underway from December 6 at Yezashi Village Baptist Church with the theme “Be Reconciled with God’ attended by Church leaders and delegates from villages, towns from 95 units. 

A press release from media supervisor, Bombo K Yeptho stated that delivering a message on the first day of the conference under the topic, “Bible and Feminism”, women secretary SBAK Aizuto, Delino I. Aye dwelt on the right to equality in socio, economic and political spheres. She also spoke on domestic violence and different kinds of abuse. She gave two perspectives of feminism; from the secular point of view and from the Holy Scripture.
Aye said that bible gives them the right guild lines towards women’s liberation saying that they are equal with beautiful differences. She also made a special mention from the book of Galatians. She remarked that there should be right approach and biblical support and not about making arguments about superiority.
Earlier in the first session, the curtain was raised by women department, Centre Baptist Church Aizuto presented three stages i.e. past, present and future. 
Stage 1 retold about their fore parents animistic believes. The second stage depicted a life of addiction, going to party and pubs, spending time on social media, after fashion and beauty, but finds no pleasure in them and finally landed in the church on their knees where they find joy and happiness through reconciliation with God. Stage 3 was all about greed, pride, jealously and hatred. The number of delegates registered on the first day as per the record was around 3,500.
On the second day, Speaking on the topic, “Such a time as this”, associate women leader ZTSBC, Anatoli Aye stressed on three points. She said that a woman was the last thing God created as per the creation account of Genesis and God was pleased with all His creation without any discrimination. “God created a person like Esther with purpose; through whom Israel’s generation was safe from mass killing. The reason you are women because God’s want to fulfil His purpose through them, she added. 
She maintained that God created them with a purpose but questioned where they go wrong, adding that leaving aside their purpose they try to imitate others. She encouraged the women folk to master their emotions such a time as this saying that emotions can make them weak and makes them stronger as well. 
Aye challenge the women to focus on their strength, to learn to stand on their own feet without relying on others. She further appealed the women to be a women God wanted them to be and make little sacrifices if needed. 
Former president Sulimi Totimi Hoho, Khegholi K. Chophi in her exhortationinformed that the resolution was made by the Sulimi Totimi Hoho to include the female folks in the chronology of their descendant. Also to promote their mother tongue, one of the top most priorities of a mother to teach their children their mother tongues. She also pointed out that a share of immovable property amongst the siblings should be encouraged. She also made emphasis on children education and to give equal importance to both male and female child and stress on the importance of women education. 
Pastoral secretary, Rev. Tokhezhe Kiba awarded three pastors retiring from the ministry after the completion of their service under SBAK-Aizuto and also gave away the certificates to those discontinuing from the ministry. They were blessed with a prayer by executive secretary, Rev. Mulato Chishi.
