SBCK conducts Fathers’ Camp in Niuland

A three-day Fathers’ Camp was organised by Sumi Baptist Church Kohima (SBCK) under the theme “Walk in faith” at Phutoi Visho Ghazu Niuland, Dimapur from April 22 to 24.

A press release from SBCK Father’s Camp 2019 camper, Vitoka Aye stated that the camp was attended by 129 fathers, of different age groups, under SBCK. The camp had five motivational speakers -- Nikhui Achumi, pastor Valley View Baptist Church and president Western Sumi Baptist Pastors Fellowship; Khekavi Yeptho, associate pastor Sumi Baptist Church Kohima (SBCK); Dr. Nitovi Shikhu deputy director, H&FW Nagaland; and Lukheto Yeptho, joint secretary Finance and chairman Board of Deacons, SBCK. 

Phutoi Zhimo, owner of Visho Ghazu (farm), on the first day, addressed the campers with special references from his life testimony. Nikhui Achumi, spoke on the theme “Walk in faith”. 

On Tuesday, Khekavi Yeptho addressed the campers on two perspectives of the Church and the social responsibility of a father. Stressing on the importance of a father’s role and identity he said that they must also preserve and practice indigenous Naga folk songs and dances, handicrafts, Sumi local languages and practice the value of dress identity in the Church. 

Others who spoke included Dr. Nitovi Shikhu and Lukheto Yeptho. 

Camp director Akuto Achumi led the camp and Lujeka Assumi, assistant pastor Fellowship SBCK, was the recorder. Six prayer warriors -- Lhokishe Shohe, Yenito Achumi, Tokheyi Awomi, Hotoli Aye, Kanili Achumi and Hoshevi Awomi also attended the camp.

Earlier, Rev. Dr. Hokheto Chophy, pastor SBCK, introduced the guest speakers.
