SCC Tsg observes freshers meet

Sao Chang College (SCC), Tuensang held its 47th freshers meet under the theme, “be the beacon” on June 4, with P. Shingnya, federal assembly speaker of Khiamniungan Students Union (KSU) as guest speaker. 

A press release from SCC media cell, convenor M. Shiu stated that, Shingnya in his speech encouraged the students to be a warrior in education in this competitive society. He cautioned the young people that Nagas were too ego centric and full of “isms” in almost every activity which needed to be removed for a healthier and progressive society. He said, students should not only focus on academic syllabus coverage during college life, but learn various life skills to live skillfully and independently. Instead of westernization, he said, one should modernize the way of life without compromising the rich and unique culture and traditions of every community. 
Khoniyimjong and Lukhtsangla K. Yimchunger were declared as Mr & Miss freshers. LongtichangTzudir, vice principal delivered short speech and Changlemba spoke on behalf of the freshers. Special song was presented by Thsanso and friends while Rebecca presented solo. Welcome address was delivered by Buming Nokhio Lam, executive member, SCCSU and vote of thanks was pronounced by Khaikho. P, general secreary SCCSU. Earlier, the invocation was offered by Heno, president Evangelical Union, SCC and special prayer for the freshers was initiated by Evangelical Union senior advisor of the college.
