Schemes must reach the people: Kaito

Minister Agriculture and Cooperation, G.Kaito Aye reminded the officers to work with commitment to ensure that benefits of various welfare schemes reach to the entire people of the state. 
Addressing the review meeting on agriculture department at its directorate here on Thursday, the minister highlighted various welfare schemes for the farmers and said that Government was giving more focus on agriculture sector. 
He therefore urged the department to tap and implement the different programmes, schemes and utilise it efficiently.    
He assured that privileges will not be denied to anyone and said he will be visiting all the districts and sub divisions to interact with the villages and address their grievances. 
He also urged the officers of districts and sub divisions to highlight their actual activities and achievements. 
He said that the Centre was ready to assist in the implementation of these schemes as its main target was to double the income of the farmers by 2022. 
Therefore, he urged the officers to work with commitment with an inclusive approach to achieve the target.
Kaito also advised the officers to be discipline and implement the schemes without fear or favour.  
Maintaining that women participation cannot be denied, he called for promotion of SHGs to a higher level.
Further, the minister asked the department officials to be prepared for proper presentation of the department activities as the DONER secretary was likely to visit the state.
APC and principal secretary N. Hushili Sema in her address said that the State can prosper only when the farmers were prosperous. 
She therefore asked the officers to execute their assigned duties with dedication and in transparent manner. 
She also reminded the officers to not accompany the VVIPs but remain in their place of posting and work for the farmers as they have been assigned for it.
She further appealed the officers to motivate and change the mindset of the people to take up agricultural entrepreneurship.
District agriculture officers and sub divisional agri officers and others attended the meeting.
