Science seminar held in Mon

Wangmai Walim Konyak, Class IX of Sacred Heart School, Mon won the Mon District Level Science Seminar 2018 on the topic “Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0: Are we prepared”? which was held on September 11 at DEO’s Conference Hall, Mon. She will represent Mon district during the State Level competition to be held on September 21.

According to DIPR, R. Zayao Lotha, district education officer, Mon speaking at the function as guest speaker said Industrial Revolution has both merits and demerits. Some of the demerits, he said, were unemployment problems, work demand and unequal distribution of wealth, but on the other hand it also brought many changes.

Lotha also acknowledged the young scientist students for their participation and for exhibiting talent. He also appreciated the teachers for guiding the students. He later handed out certificates to all the participants.

Altogether 14 schools under Mon participated in the seminar which was organised by district education officer Mon. Gautam Kumar Chetri, PGT, GHSS Mon, T. Limawapang, PGT, GHSS Mon and A.K Singh, vice principal, GHSS Mon Town-D were the panel of judges.

The program was chaired by James Ngushu, assistant district coordinator and vote of thanks was said by Wekong Konyak, AHM GHS Mon Town–C.
