Science and technology awareness exhibition was organised by Government Polytechnic Kohima (GPK) in collaboration with National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology (DST), government of India at Government Polytechnic Kohima and Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Wokha on May 16 and May 17 respectively.

 A press release by GPK principal, Er. Keyiekhru Rhutso stated that the exhibition was organised to bring science and technology awareness to the general population so that it could enrich lives.
The release stated that the exhibitions were also aimed to provide platform to the students to explore their creative talents and to develop their interest in science and technology.  
Highlights of the exhibitions included various activities such as science exhibition, essay writing, quiz, debate and poster making competitions were organized. 
Science and technology communication through puppetry, science behind miracles and food adulteration were also exhibited by the resources persons, S. M Faizani, Anas Farooqui and Adhiti Sinha respectively.
About 120 participants from different schools in Kohima district and 130 participants from various schools under Wokha district participated in the awareness exhibitions. 
GPK principal, Er. Keyiekhru Rhutso and GHSS Wokha Sr. principal, Y. Vungthungo, graced the inaugural functions while Er. Keyiekhru Rhutso and Sr. graduate teacher, GHSS Wokha, Mhabemo Odyuo, gave away the prizes during the closing functions. Quiz and debate competitions were conducted by Priyanka Singh.  The programme coordinators were Thepfungulie Kense and Erenpeni Tsanglao.
