Students Christian Movement of India (SCMI), Senapati District Unit, Manipur, conducted relief drive for flood victims of Kerala by selling tea in the district headquarter on August 20. The fund drive was conducted in collaboration with IMS and PCD.

Volunteers set up a tea stall at the mini-stadium ground and encouraged town goers to have tea and contribute towards the cause. Apart from selling tea at the stall, volunteers also carried out shop to shop sale of their special tea.

It may be mentioned that Kerala has been devastated by large scale flooding resulting in the loss of many precious lives and properties.

The students’ community also put up pamphlets with slogans ‘Save Kerala, Give Without Boundaries, All for Kerala,  Happiness Comes From Giving, Stand Up For Kerala, and Help For The Flood Victims of Kerala.’

The student body stated that the money earned would be forwarded to SCMI head office Bangalore.  “It’s not much but we pray that our contribution, however little, will bring about a bit of difference in the lives of those who are affected by the devastating flood,” said Paul N Tao, president of SCMI, Senapati Unit.

The Students’ community also expressed their gratitude to Senapati District Students Association (SDSA), Innovative Media Stop (IMS), Propouzei Creative Design (PCD) and the Senapatians for their contribution.
